About the name...

About the name...
Our friend Clifford suggested "Crested Oak" when we asked him what we might name the cabin. It has to do with some oak trees grouped together on the property.
If it weren't for Clifford locating our well we may not have built at all. We thought it was fitting to use the name he recommended.

June 13, 2012 Cabin officially habitable!!

Outside units buttoned up with a Permatron Air Filter.

TV from Doe Run has new spot and should be great for movies.
1960's Rattan from Mom and Dad looks great in loft.

Reading nook in upstairs bedroom.

Our first floor bedroom is finally set up.

Sean calls this bath 'the spa', because of the shower.

The Den has a really comfortable pull out... really, it's comfortable.

The island and bath cabinet were made by Gary Greene at Chase Wood Shop.
We love his work and both pieces look great.

The living room/ dining room.

We love the kitchen and finally got the lighting right.  Track lighting is TRICKY!!

Upstairs bath ready for guests.

  1. Hi, I googled "track lighting for log homes" and came across your photo. We have it in our kitchen but need to update it as some lights have stopped working and new lights won't fit in the old track. What kind of lights did you get? You said it was "tricky", what did you mean? We like the look but we really can't determine what they are. Any info you can give me would be appreciated! Laurie Kass
