About the name...
Our friend Clifford suggested "Crested Oak" when we asked him what we might name the cabin. It has to do with some oak trees grouped together on the property.
If it weren't for Clifford locating our well we may not have built at all. We thought it was fitting to use the name he recommended.

July 2010. Drilling the well.


 We received two estimates for the well.  One was an estimate for 400 feet (considered a best case scenario) and the other was for an estimate of 800+ feet (considered a worst case scenario).  
It was a possibility that we might not hit water at all since we are on a mountain.  
Well thanks to Clifford, we hit water at 200 feet!
